What is REIKI?
Pronounced 'Raykee' - REIKI treatment is a very simple, non-intrusive process which produces a deep sense of relaxation. The recipient will lie down, fully clothed, on a treatment couch while the practitioner gently channels the REIKI energy through her (his) hands (like rays of light) to the recipient's head, gradually downwards to the toes. It works wherever the recipient needs it most, and can be applied to any part of the body, even through bandages and casts.
REIKI is a powerful yet subtle therapy that is a completely safe, natural and holistic way of treating disease. The experience is unique, the sensations and benefits varying from person to person.

REIKI will help to release blocked energy, cleansing the physical body of toxins.
Origins of REIKI
Many years ago, REIKI was used as a system of holistic healing and deep meditation in Tibet. Unfortunately, as this little known practice was only passed on by word of mouth, in time it almost disappeared. Luckily, it was rediscovered in the mid-19th century by a Christian monk, who devoted his life to finding a form of healing that worked, and which could be systematically passed on to others.
Treatments
A treatment lasts between half an hour and two hours, depending on the needs of the client. It will begin with a confidential discussion to prepare a client profile and ascertain special needs. During treatment, the practitioner places her hands around you in a variety of `postures', working from the head to the toes. You will remain fully clothed and the complete experience is both comforting and relaxing. Your experience will be unique to you and may vary from session to session.
Most people experience heat coming from the practitioner's hands, others notice pleasant tingling sensations and see colours, while others feel nothing more than a sense of complete calm, deep relaxation and rejuvenation.
